WhatsApp for iOS is bringing a new and exciting feature to its users – the ability to create events in group chats. This feature was initially detected in the beta version of the Android app by a feature tracker and is now being officially rolled out to the stable version of the iPhone app.

The latest update includes not only the Event option for group chats but also quick reply shortcuts to video notes and an in-app dialer for the Calls tab. This expansion of features shows WhatsApp’s commitment to enhancing user experience and providing more interaction possibilities within the app.

With the new Event feature, users can now create events directly within group chats. By tapping the “+” icon, users can access the activity menu, where they can input the event name, description, start time, and even location. Additionally, users have the option to include a WhatsApp call link to easily start a call when the event begins. This added functionality allows for more seamless event planning and coordination among group members.

The Event feature is available to all WhatsApp for iOS users, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals. The rollout of new features is typically done gradually, so users may need to update their app and wait a few days before gaining access to the latest features.

In addition to the Event feature, WhatsApp has also introduced Meta AI – an AI chatbot, to various regions, including India. There are reports that users may soon have the option to choose between two AI models: Llama 3-70B and Llama 3-405B. The former provides quick responses, while the latter is Meta’s largest model with 400 billion parameters. However, the Llama 3-405B AI model has not yet been made available to the public.

Overall, the introduction of group chat events and other new features in WhatsApp for iOS demonstrates the app’s continuous evolution and commitment to enhancing user experience. With more interactive features and improved functionality, WhatsApp remains a top choice for instant messaging and communication among users worldwide.
